Music search service for free now Google only presented to Internet users in China. In addition to lots of record label support, this service also allows users to access music legally.
Service called Music OneBox will lead the user to visit the link Top100.cn. Said address of the Internet users in China can access the music for free, either for download or just stream it on. Unfortunately, the internet users outside China are not allowed to visit this site to prevent piracy.
This makes China the government only gave permission to Google to provide access, not selling thatmusic . Paid service music download is not allowed in China, even for famous brands such as Apple iTunes though. The reason, dowload music from free sites are vulnerable to pirated products.
Top100.cn itself is a local website that China has received support from approximately 100 record labels. Looking ahead, they are exploring a deal with Sony BMG and Warner Music Group to establish a partnership.
“This legal music services can help users to avoid sites that do not address function, the process is slow downloads, search results are not accurate and the quality is not good songs,” Google said in his statement, as quoted by the Associated Press,
According to data from an international federation, more than 99 percent of the music distributed in China are pirated products. Although China is considered as a potential market, but overall music sales in the country only USD76 million per year. This figure does not reach one percent of the total income generated by the global music industry.
