How Making Your Computer Run Like New
October 8, 2009
Isn’t it annoying how new computers run extremely fast, but as soon as they get a little older… and you start using them a little bit, they start to run slower and slower? This is a huge problem which affects almost every computer in the World… but it’s actually being caused by a hidden part of your system, and here’s how to fix it.
Unfortunately, almost every Windows computer is being made to run slow because of a part of the system called the “registry”. The registry is a big database which stores all the settings and information for your computer, allowing Windows to “remember” a variety of different settings for your PC, such as your latest emails and your desktop wallpaper. The registry is one of the most important parts of Windows, but is also one of the most troublesome, and is actually the biggest cause of your computer slowing down.
The problem is that since the registry contains so many important pieces of information, your computer is continuously 100’s of registry files to run. This is okay, but it also means that your computer is constantly getting confused about which files it has open, leading it to save many of them in the wrong way. This makes these important files corrupt, making them incredibly difficult for your PC to read, slowing it down.
This is actually the biggest cause of a slow PC, and because the registry is constantly hidden, it’s actually not know to exist by many people. It’s like if you think of the registry as a highway, and all the cars are registry files. When a registry file is saved wrong, it’s like one of these cars crashing, making a pile-up, which slows down the flow of other files. However, the more files that crash, makes your computer run slower and slower… and because Windows cannot fix registry files on its own, these crashes stay there until you fix them.
Luckily, there’s a very easy way to fix these damaged registry files. You just need to use a software tool called a “registry cleaner”. These software tools have been created especially to clean out the problematic files inside the registry, and if you can get a good one, your computer will end up running as fast as it did when it was new. New computers run fast because they don’t have any corrupt registry files to slow them down, which means that if you can use a registry cleaner to fix all the corrupt registry files on your PC, you can instantly speed up your PC again.
