RIM Have New Browser

Blackberry seems to be having a new browser, this after Research in Motion (RIM) announced it has acquired the Torch Mobile. Torch Mobile is a company based in Toronto, which has a browser called the Iris. Browser that was developed for the mobile device, is based on WebKit and generally run on Windows Mobile. So that was launched PC World, Tuesday (25/8/2009).
“Now we can focus on developing mobile WebKit-based browser. Belong with RIM, also allows the platform it runs on the Blackberry,” an official statement Torch Mobile, is quoted as PC World, Tuesday (25/8/2009).
with the acquisition of RIM as the party in control, will continue the development of the Iris browser. Thus open the possibility of the BlackBerry’s browser will be replaced with the based web browsers.
WebKit itself is open source software is widely used for browsers on the iPhone, Palm Pre Android and Symbian S60.
The acquisition is certainly an added value for Blackberry users, because, many of those who complained Blackberry browser is not as easy as any other browser. This causes, many of these smartphone users who switch to the mini-opera, which is much lighter.
