Suits Netbook By Dell Vostro A90
April 16, 2009
Dell has taken the Inspiron Mini 9 netbook and dressed it up for the business types. This also call suits netbook. The innards are exactly the same as the pedestrian counterpart with an Intel 1.6 Atom CPU, 8GB SSD, 1GB of RAM and a 8.9-inch screen.
The device is geared for business users, with features similar to the consumer-oriented Inspiron Mini 9. The base-model offers an 8.9-inch display, 512MB of memory and an 8GB SSD, with options for 1GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD. Customers are limited to Windows XP Home Edition as the pre-installed operating system. The Dell Vostro A90 also has an 8.9-inch, 1024 x 600 display, and will be offered solely with Windows XP as OS, rather than the Mini 9’s Ubuntu Linux configuration. The usual three USB 2.0 ports, VGA output, memory card reader and audio in/out are there, together with ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR.
While the Vostro A90 carried a $972 price tag in Japan, the entry-level model can be purchased for $350 in the U.S. Adding the 16GB SSD and 1GB of RAM brings the price up to $424.
